Sponsor the Commissioning

A place for every shipmate.

Ships are commissioned once. Legacies are permanent. Choose your tier, name your reason, and be part of the story of DDG-139 for the next fifty years at sea.

The Case for Giving

Some gifts are spent. This one is commissioned.

Navies are built by appropriations. Commissions are built by citizens.

When DDG-139 is placed in commission, everything an appropriation does not provide — the ceremonies that honor a hero's family, the support that surrounds her first crew and the families who wait for them, the keeping of the namesake's story for the generations who will serve under his name — will exist because people who never wore the uniform decided that his story deserved it.

A commissioning happens once. A century of silence ends once. The names on the donor wall are not a list of contributors; they are the crew behind the crew — entered permanently into the record of the first United States Navy warship ever named for a Filipino.
